Improving your visual communication with marker rendering techniques
Aimed at students who want to develop their visual communication of design concepts using mixed media, this session will show students professional marker rendering techniques and provide an understanding of how to apply colour markers and pastels, and other mixed media to a 2d drawn object to make it look realistic/stylistic and more three-dimensional. Students will gain an understanding of light, surface reflections, form and material representation to make ideas more realistic. Students can take this understanding and apply it to their own project work on their current course to help their visual communication.

Collagraph and card cut printmaking workshop
Ideal for students interested in using printmaking as part of their visual communication practice, this session will help them explore 'by hand' printmaking techniques. It will introduce students to a range of concepts associated with traditional printmaking and allow them to experiment and create a print by the end of the session. Students who are thinking of studying graphic design, illustration or fine art will benefit from this session.

Creative thinking techniques
This session is aimed at students wanting to develop their idea generating techniques and understand the value of ideas, and how to protect and exploit them. The session is suitable for students studying product design, 3D design, art and design, interior design and graphic design.
Students will be able to develop their creative thinking ability, exploring and exercising the right side of the brain. They will gain an understanding of how to be creative and how to develop an idea into an innovative product or service/solution. Students will develop an idea within teams and produce a solution that has the potential to be further developed into a commercial design.
