Biography

Ben has 15 years' experience in the music industry as a session drummer and teacher. His first break came with Girls Aloud, and he later became the drummer for Ladyhawke, Foxes and Jasmine Thompson. Touring schedules with these artists saw Ben support the likes of Coldplay, Pharrell Williams, Bastille, Katy Perry and The Script internationally.  He has also performed at major festivals worldwide and global music awards.

During this time, Ben also made TV appearances with Nicole Scherzinger, Will Young, Adam Lambert and Matt Goss for ITV and the BBC.

Ben is now passing on his experience in the industry to the musicians at Solent.

Outside of lecturing, he still is an active musician and also runs his own music agency, Whippet Music, supplying musicians for projects such as X Factor, Coca Cola, 3 Mobile, Huawei, E4, Desperados and Highlands Whisky.

    Ben has previously been a music teacher at SEND School, Redwood Park Academy, as well as a drum tutor at Fareham College and for Hampshire Music Service. Ben also gives one-on-one private tuition.

    Ben has had articles published in Rhythm and Drummer magazine.
  3. Awards

    Ben has gained a BA (Hons) Music Performance, an HND Music Performance, and Grade 8 High Honours Drum Kit from Trinity Guildhall.
