Biography

Educator, singer, music producer and media maker, Frankie grew up in London but moved south to study media technology at Solent University.

After graduating she trained to be a teacher and worked in colleges across the south coast before returning to Solent University to teach on the media production programme before also teaching on the popular music production foundation year.

Outside of education she produces and performs music, currently under the pseudonym of Frankie Knight, and produces music videos and promotional images for other musicians. She is passionate about embedding creativity in the classroom, promoting playfulness; and is currently researching how to use wellbeing strategies in the creative process as part of her MA in Critical Creative Practice.

Frankie is an avid gig goer, loves to travel, dance and swim in the sea.

  1. Industry experience

    Frankie has worked freelance on various adverts and TV shows, including Nadiya's Summer Feasts on BBC1. She does the photography for Vitality Hemp and other ethical start-up brands: https://frankieknight.photography
  2. Teaching experience

    Frankie started teaching in 2011 while completing DTLLS covering photography, media studies, culture and communication, and art and design. She received QTS in 2014 and completed her PGCHE in 2019 after joining the teaching team at Solent in 2017.
  3. Recent publications

    Frankie released her debut album, Blue Marble on Miohmi Records in 2019. Material from her past outfit, Arp Attack is on Extreme Music Publishing.
