I came to academia from a career in business, during which I worked for diverse companies such as a dot com training company and National Air Traffic Services. Having left that career behind, I completed a PhD in cognitive psychology followed by a post-doctoral research role at the University of Southampton. Presently I work at Southampton Solent University where I teach primarily on practical research modules, and continue to pursue an active research portfolio.
My research interests primarily focus on learning and memory, and metacognition:
I use a wide range of research methodologies in my research, with a particular focus on signal detection theory and ROC curve analysis.
