Biography
Adham is a lecturer in accounting and finance at Southampton Solent University. He teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Levels 3 through 7. He also serves as the Level 4 Leader for the accounting and finance programme.
Adham brings with him over 11 years of academic teaching and curriculum development experience. Before joining Solent in January 2025, he held teaching positions at Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham, where he supported both undergraduate and MBA programmes. He also worked as an Assistant Lecturer at Cairo University, Egypt, where he taught a range of advanced accounting modules and contributed to departmental accreditation efforts.
Adham successfully defended his PhD in Business and Management (Accounting and Finance) at the University of Nottingham Business School. His doctoral research explored the relationship between corporate governance structures and stock price crash risk in international settings. He also holds an MSc in Accounting and a BSc (Hons) in Commerce from Cairo University, where he ranked second in both degrees.
At Solent, Adham teaches a wide range of modules including Audit Principles, Current Audit Issues, Business Finance for Managers, Corporate Financial Management, and the Business and Law Project. His teaching is informed by both academic research and professional relevance, with a focus on bridging theory and practice through interactive learning and real-world case studies.
Adham is currently undertaking the Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)). His teaching approach is student-centred and practically grounded, aiming to equip students with the analytical and professional skills needed in the fields of accounting and finance.
