Lee Davison

Lee Davison graduated from Southampton Solent University in 2012 with a BSc in Sound Engineering. He worked as a knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) associate, on a project with Strategic Audiology Services and Solent Acoustics, working on the development and calibration of an audiometric testing system. He then became an acoustics developer for the Solent Acoustics team, with a particular interest in audiometry and the development of mobile applications for acoustics and audiometry. He became a lecturer in media technology in September 2017.

Lee holds the Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control, and a BSA (British Society of Audiology) Certificate in Industrial Audiometry and a BSA Certificate in Otoscopy and Impression-taking. He is currently completing his PhD, focused on hearing thresholds and hearing risk undertaken by young people in the UK, and has developed a mobile application to monitor the hearing risk of phone users.

Lee’s interests include mobile development, audio computing and game audio. He teaches on a range of modules across the media technology and computing programmes, and also assists with consultancy activities in the Solent Acoustics group, from festival noise monitoring to lab testing in the University hemi-anechoic chamber.
