Dr Nick Hampton has a background in game design and game development, as well as a PhD in videogame theory.
After being awarded a First (Hons) degree in Creative Computer Games Design at Swansea Metropolitan University, Nick set up a small indie studio, developing and publishing a number of games for Android and iOS platforms.
After this, he returned to academia and undertook a PhD, investigating the role of the uncanny within the medium of videogames. After successful completion of the PhD, Nick moved into teaching, and has now been a lecturer at Solent University for six years. Nick’s main interests lie within videogame theory and design, and he loves to see students explore the full potential and possibilities of videogames, both artistically and creatively.
