Dr Richard Scullion is a senior lecturer in business and marketing in Solent's Business School.
He gained his PhD from the LSE on consumerist choice and its implication for political democracy.
He has published widely on issues of marketisation and civic culture and his research interest focus on the spaces where consumer and civic cultures coalesce and is currently writing a reflective piece about academic performativity in online spaces.
Before moving into academia, Richard worked for 20 years in the commercial world mainly as a marketing manager for various companies including in both the travel and media industries.
