Sally Holland, Course Leader

Biography

Sally Holland, course leader of BSc (Hons) Business Management is excited to work in partnership with students and colleagues to build on best practice, collaborate and innovate to offer an outstanding student experience. She is proud to be a part of Solent Business School which is highly ranked for graduate business start-ups (HE-BCI), and highly rated for expertise in business management and marketing (The Guardian Best UK Universities Guide), as well as short-listed in the CMI Awards for Outstanding HE Training Provider of the Year 2022.

As an academic, Sally’s focus is on widening participation, inclusivity, and real-world learning through engagement with employers within the curriculum. With a drive for innovation, entrepreneurship, guest speakers, and extracurricular events to enhance graduate outcomes, she is passionate about the student experience and challenging our students to be confident and bold in their preparations for their future careers.

As a former business professional with a First in Corporate Communication and a Distinction at master's, with a passion for communication her research interests specialise in authentic leadership, employee engagement and psychological resilience through the positive adaptation to change. Her specialist teaching areas include professional practice, organisational behaviour, strategic change, leadership, management, and corporate communication. With a background in Internal Communication Management, Sally leads the University partnership with the Institute of Internal Communication to deliver their professional development programmes, including an MA in Internal Communication Management.

Further information

During her time at NTL Sally instigated the implementation of online communication channels in addition to supporting the management team through numerous transformation programmes, including a redundancy programme done under extreme time constraints to remove costs, prior to the year-end.

Prior to working for the corporate area she worked for ntl:home, contributing to the success of the price change programme that increased incremental revenue by £100 million.
