Biography
Tim is an experienced lecturer and business analyst who is committed to innovation, business improvement and education. He has spent more than 14 years in higher education in both teaching and management roles, including six years as the MBA Programme Director.
Tim holds an MSc (Dist) Business Information Technology, BA Hons (First) Business with E-commerce, PGCLTHE, Google Analytics Individual Qualification and several other professional qualifications; he is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Subject areas that Tim teaches, from Level 3 to Level 7, include IT, leadership, project management, entrepreneurship, e-business, innovation, digital marketing and operations management. He has held a number of external examiner positions at the Sheffield Hallam University, Coventry University College and St Mark’s and St John’s University Plymouth.
Throughout his time in higher education he has maintained his links with industry through consultancy and research projects that involve working with businesses. Tim is passionate about maintaining knowledge and experience in his subject areas so that his students can learn about the latest developments in business and how academic theories work in practice and evolve.
Having worked in roles that include IT manager, system developer, IT analyst and senior business systems analyst, Tim has a strong background in IT and management. He previously worked in the NHS and continues to do consultancy work, focussing on genetics software development, healthcare system integration, cloud computing and business analysis.
Tim has always been entrepreneurial and combined his passion for business, photography and IT to set up Tim Jackson Photography and iBox Solutions, two businesses that still run today.

Tim founded and continues to run iBox Solutions, an IT consultancy business specialising in healthcare informatics, system integration and web technologies.
