Biography

Will is the course leader of the Sports Journalism degree, a role he has held since 2015. He is also an associate head of the Department of Film and Media, here at Solent University.

He is a broadcast journalist of over 20 years, specialising in the practice and teaching of sport. He has been involved in radio/audio presenting since the late 1990s and worked extensively in the UK, but also overseas in North America and Australia. Since 2008 Will has also worked extensively in TV for the likes of Sky Sports, beINsport, IMG, ITV, Channel 5, Chelsea TV, and Saints TV.

Will is an accomplished sports reporter and commentator who has covered hundreds of football, cricket, golf, and beach soccer matches. He has covered domestic (UK) and European football games, and has covered international football tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup and European Championships. He is also a commentary consultant for the FlashScore app.

Away from football, Will has covered the London 2012 Olympics, and golf tournaments such as The Ryder Cup, The Solheim Cup, and The Masters.

Will is an external examiner for two UK universities, has been an academic consultant for four other institutions, is a member of the Broadcast Journalism Training Council board of academic representatives, and a visiting lecturer to a Spanish university.
