Professor Allan Youp OBE has served as an Independent Governor and Non-Executive Director at Southampton Solent University since October 2024, sitting on the Finance and Resources Committees and advising on maritime and defence strategy.
Experience
A former Royal Navy Captain, Allan built a distinguished career in learning, development and organisational transformation, culminating in leading the Royal Navy’s strategic engagement with industry, academia and government to address complex maritime challenges for which he was appointed an OBE in the King’s New Year Honours (2024).
He is Founder and Managing Director of Youp Consulting Ltd (since 2023) supporting boards and senior leaders in strategic and behavioural change, aligning people, culture and capability to deliver sustainable impact.
