About the course

Whether you’re at the start of your career or already an experienced manager, earn yourself a potential triple award of qualifications to support your organisational performance and professional development in this enhanced training programme.

As well as achieving an apprenticeship award at successful completion of the course, standard learning outcomes are mapped to a Business Operations and Management Foundation degree qualification (FdA) and also a CMI Level 5 Management and Leadership Diploma.

The training programme covers knowledge areas to support you in managing projects, leading and managing teams, creating and delivering operational plans, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, and coaching and mentoring.

Following enrolment, you’ll become an associate member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), with access to both Solent and CMI’s learning platforms to support high quality learning and teaching provision. On completion, apprentices can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute, and those with three years' management experience can apply for Chartered Manager status (CMgr) through the CMI.

Upon completion of the course, you’ll have the chance to progress within a range of higher degree apprenticeships provided across the University.

You have the opportunity to obtain a professional membership as part of this degree.

Facts and figures

Fees icon

Fees and costs

Tuition fees

Businesses with an annual payroll above £3million will be classed as a levy paying employer and will be able to use funds accrued in their digital apprenticeship service (DAS) account for payment of the training. Please contact us for guidance on fees if you are a non-levy employer which will cover at least 95% of the costs.  The cost of the programme is £7,000.

Graduation costs

For graduates in 2020, there is no charge to attend graduation, but you will be required to pay for the rental of your academic gown (approximately £45 per graduate, depending on your award). You may also wish to purchase official photography packages, which range in price from £15 to £200+. Graduation is not compulsory, so if you prefer to have your award sent to you, there is no cost. Extra guest tickets will go on sale after results publication and will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis. The cost per ticket was £15 in 2019, but this fee is subject to change for future years. Please note, we do not guarantee there will be any extra tickets available to purchase.
Key entry requirements icon

Key entry requirements

The entry requirement for this apprenticeship course will be decided by each employer, but may typically be five GCSEs at Grade C or higher. Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative. Providers will liaise with employers to determine their requirements, in line with any specific requirements of the provider.

Apprentices without level 2 English and mathematics will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment. Evidence of this must be collated by the provider and provided to the end-point assessment body as part of the Gateway process. It is also recommended that the apprentice is supported to become digitally literate where this is important to their role.

All applicants will be interviewed, alongside an employer interview to determine commitment for the apprenticeship delivery period.
