Solent University continues its rise up the league tables, climbing 8 places in the new Guardian University Guide published today (7 June 2019), and is now ranked 73 out of 121 institutions.
The Guardian’s league table ranks universities according to: spending per student; student/staff ratio; career prospects; entry requirements; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results; student satisfaction (overall, teaching and feedback satisfaction), based on results from the annual National Student Survey (NSS) and the continuation measure.
A continuing strong student-to-staff ratio and strong National Student Survey (NSS) results, particularly in satisfaction and Teaching Assessment, were positive influences on the University’s overall performance.
Celebrating these latest results Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Baldwin said: “Back in the 2016 Guardian league table we were ranked 114th, to now be placed 73rd in so short a time is great news for the University and everyone involved with Solent. It is testament to the innovation, hard work and commitment shown by staff, students and our alumni.
“Our ultimate aim is to help our students reach their great potential, supporting them into successful careers, continued Professor Baldwin, “and that is just what we are doing.”
