September was a very exciting month for the Faculty of the Creative Industries, as they had the pleasure of welcoming top-up students from all over the world onto the Southampton Solent University campus.
The students took part in an induction period, which included bespoke academic and social activities meant to bring the students and lecturers together and offer them an insight of studying and living in Southampton.
From the Students’ Union Freshers Fayre to IT inductions and small group tasks, the students had the opportunity to get involved in fun projects that enabled them to get to know each other, begin to appreciate the value of teamwork and start to think about research.
The induction culminated with a buffet dinner at Frog and Parrot in Southampton, where the students celebrated the start of a new and exciting academic year.
Bob Burke, Music Top-Up Coordinator, said:
“It’s great to see the level of creativity and originality shown by our incoming top-up students. The standard was really strong across the board and after the success of this induction programme, I am looking forward to seeing some interesting collaborations from students across different subject areas over the coming academic year.”
