Student takes up FA coaching role
Final year football studies student, Jack Thurlow, has been appointed as one of the Football Association's 158 full-time skills coaches. Jack, who has recently completed his degree, will provide specialist coaching in schools for 5-11 year olds, and at Charter Standard clubs. He will also attend regular CPD events at Wembley Stadium and St Georges Park. Discussing how he felt his time at Solent prepared him for a full-time role in the game, Jack csaid: "Prior to coming to Solent University, it was always a dream for me to gain a career in the football industry. Never did I believe that straight after University I would be able to say that I would be working for the FA. A huge thank you goes to all the teaching staff from the football studies course who have always been supportive and provided me with an invaluable insight into the football industry."
