The surrealist art movement was what inspired 21-year-old final-year BA (Hons) Fashion Photography student, Chau Tran's final project - a coffee table book called Subtle Surrealism, which focuses on fashion, surrealism and contemporary photography.

Chau says: "I always had an interest in surrealism, so the goal for my final major project was to push my own creative limits and portray surrealism through contemporary fashion photography."

We asked Chau what they enjoyed most about studying fashion photography at Solent and what advice they'd give to other students: "I really enjoyed working on different photoshoots using the photography studios. And I would encourage other students to stick with it - the workload can be stressful, but it's all worth it in the end."

After graduation, Chau plans to take a short break from photography and travel.

Some examples of Chau's work are below.
