Make the right choice

Deciding where to study is a big decision - it's important that you make the right choice. Visiting the Solent campus is the best way to find out if life as a student here is right for you.

Five reasons to visit:

  1. Find out more about your course at our subject specific talks. See exactly what you’ll be studying and learn more about your career prospects.
  2. Got a burning question? Get one-to-one advice from our academics, admissions staff and current students.
  3. Get hands-on with a range of professional equipment. Find out how free and easy access to our facilities sets us apart from other universities.
  4. Feeling social? Meet our student ambassadors and find out all about student life, clubs, social events and societies.
  5. Show your family around. Open days are a great way to help parents and loved ones better understand your course.

Getting to the open day

We are situated in the heart of Southampton city centre. Southampton benefits from excellent access to airports, train stations, ferry terminals and major motorways, so getting here should be no problem at all.

By car

Southampton is just 75 miles (120km) from London and 21 miles (34km) from the Channel ports. During open day events there will be no parking on the main University campus apart from blue badge holders. The nearest car parks are located about 10 minutes' walk away, at Grosvenor Square (SO15 2BE) and Bedford Place (SO15 2DS). If you are a blue badge holder please email us at ask@solent.ac.uk to reserve a parking space on the main campus.

By train

The nearest train station is Southampton Central. For more help with arranging train travel, please visit the National Rail Enquiries website: www.nationalrail.co.uk.

Travel voucher scheme

We offer a travel voucher scheme for some of our events. Guests who live outside the local authority of Southampton City Council can apply to receive an Amazon voucher that covers the cost of their travel (up to the value of £50). For more information and to make an application, please email us at ask@solent.ac.uk.
