The Certificate in Professional Sport Management and Administration (Football) is run in conjunction with the League Managers Association (LMA) and Institute of Football Management and Administration (IFMA) to provide training and development for administration staff for the 92 UK professional football clubs, professional leagues and governing bodies. It is funded by the Premier League and Miller Insurance.

Academics from Solent University and the LMCFR provide much of the taught input. They are complemented by a range of football industry experts. It is the only course specifically designed for those employed in the professional game, and is viewed as the industry standard qualification for administrators in professional football. To date, representatives from FIFA, the Football Association, Premier League, Football League, Football Conference and more than 60 professional football clubs have studied for the certificate.

Taught sessions are held at Leicester City Football Club. These sessions run six times per year (two weekends per unit), over a two-year period, between September and May. The sessions usually begin around 10.30am on Sunday, finishing at approximately 3pm on Monday. A programme of distance learning supports the seminars.

The course is equivalent to the first year of a UK university degree and the credits earned can be transferred to other accredited courses elsewhere.

To be eligible for entry onto the course, potential students are expected to be members of the Professional Football Administrators Association (PFAA) or Professional Football Coaches Association (PFCA).

To express your interest in registering for a place, please contact Ali Betson at the LMA at or telephone 01283 576 363.
