Pure@Solent: research information management system (RIMS)

Solent University is implementing the Pure RIMS. Members of academic staff should record their research outputs, research activities and edit their research projects using this system.

Staff can access and edit their Pure profile by logging into the University’s internal Portal and selecting the Access Pure link in the My Files app

Until the Pure@Solent interface is launched staff should continue to deposit their publications in the current Solent Electronic Archive (SEA) to meet the requirements of Open Access. Please talk to your Information Librarian if you need help accessing SEA.

Just had your paper accepted for publication? Make sure it's REF eligible

Final peer-reviewed manuscripts of journals and conference papers must be made Open Access by depositing them in an institutional or subject repository within three months of acceptance for publication. Ask the Library about Open Access using Solent Electronic Archive (SEA) or visit Research England Policy for open access in the next REF at: http://www.hefce.ac.uk/rsrch/oa/Policy/

Replacing SEA with the Pure@Solent repository

In 2018-19 the University will launch a public facing interface for Pure@Solent profiles to become publicly searchable. When the Pure@Solent website is launched, academic staff who currently deposit their research outputs into the SEA for Open Access will be able to deposit their research outputs into the Pure@Solent repository instead.

Watch out for notification here of when the Pure@Solent repository goes live before making the switch from SEA to Pure@Solent.

RIE and the Library will ensure that outputs previously deposited in SEA are transferred to the Pure@Solent repository without affecting their Open Access status
