Solent Physiotherapy assessments and treatments are available to all University staff, students and members of the general public.
Physiotherapy is a degree-based healthcare profession that helps people affected by injury or disability through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. The profession helps to encourage development and facilitate recovery, enabling people to stay in work and return to active hobbies in a timely fashion.
The role of a physiotherapist is multi-factorial. Treatments provided are holistic and take a 'whole person' approach to health and wellbeing. Physiotherapists place an emphasis on promoting health and empowering individuals through education and active participation in their treatment.
Physiotherapy can also be a bridge into other health-related services, including orthopaedic and rheumatology consultants, general practitioners, occupational therapists and strength and conditioning coaches.
