Performance sport

Our performance sport programme supports talented athletes through university. The programme is moulded around your sporting talent and academic potential, with an expert team on hand to help you balance your university career with competing on the national or international stage.

If you are an athlete with an outstanding ability who competes at national or international level, or shows strong potential to do so, enrolling on the performance sport programme means you can apply for a sport scholarship at our High Performance Academy (HPA). Our HPA athletes compete in sports including gymnastics, athletics, football, cricket and basketball.

Providing our students with excellent sporting facilities is a key priority. State-of-the-art football venues, teaching gyms, sport science labs and indoor pitches are just a few of the resources you can take advantage of.

Team Solent's 30-plus teams and clubs compete in a variety of sports, in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues and tournaments, as well as local, national and international competitions.
