Dr Alexandros Dimitriadis

School of Maritime Science and Engineering

023 8201 6112 ext. 6112 Room no. RM309

After my undergraduate degree in maritime administration from the University of Piraeus, Greece, I pursued my studies in Lyon, France, where I obtained a second undergraduate degree, a masters and a doctorate in finance. Joining Solent this year allows me to combine two disciplines that fascinate me as well as to teach more applied subjects.

Research interests

Corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investing, rating agencies, small/mid-caps.

I firmly believe that business ethics cannot be limited to catchy mantra and well-phrased intentions. Even though quantifying notions such as environmental, social and governance performance is hard, approximate and subjective, it's still a good place to start, no matter how big the company or how complex its operations.
