Biography

BA (Hons), MA (Nottingham Trent University), PhD (University of Nottingham), PGCTLHE, FHEA.

Teaching and roles

I am a senior lecturer in film and television and the course leader for BA (Hons) Film and Television and I have taught at Solent University since 2007. I am also the editor-in-chief for 'Diegesis', a critical review magazine and website written and produced by students on the film and television degree.

Since 2010, I have been a University teaching and learning fellow involved in the development of the Solent Teaching and Learning Community, which includes the annual Solent Teaching and Learning Community Conference, the Solent internal pedagogic journal, 'Dialogue' and Peer Practice Exchange.

    My research interests include performance and acting, stardom and celebrity, masculinity, sexuality, Hollywood (contemporary and classical), film noir, the voice in film and popular screen criticism. I am interested in supervising potential research students wishing to explore any aspect relating to these areas.
