Biography

Lottie is a qualified hairdresser and make-up artist with a strong art and design practice background, and has worked as a freelance make-up and hair artist for over 20 years. Skilled in theatre, wig work, fashion shows, promotional shoots and photography, she has also collaborated with a number of artists on creative projects where the work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Since joining the make-up and hair design programme at Solent University, her studio-based teaching delivery, coupled with industry experience, has focused on providing critical debate within art and design practice, in addition to  offering externally set ‘live’ projects that extend student knowledge and understanding of commercial and professional practice.

In 2018 Lottie completed her MA in Visual Communication and is currently developing a series of projects that push the boundaries of our visual and material culture through artefacts intended for aesthetic contemplation, embodying a narrative that is informed by the discipline of make-up and hair design.
