Biography
Aditya Chopra is a dedicated marine engineer and senior lecturer in cadetship programmes at Southampton Solent University, with extensive hands-on experience as a watchkeeping engineer officer on liquefied gas carriers.
Holding a COC Chief Engineer (MCA) certification and a 4G welding qualification from Lloyd’s Register, he excels in marine engineering education, curriculum development, and naval architecture examination for the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
Currently pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, Aditya is committed to advancing maritime safety, innovation, and professional standards in both operational and academic environments.

Aditya gained hands-on industry experience as a watchkeeping engineer officer (OICEW) and trainee marine engineer on liquefied gas carriers with Northern Marine Management (India) Pvt. Ltd from 2018 to 2023.
He managed engine room operations, performed routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs while ensuring compliance with stringent safety and environmental regulations.
He also supervised junior engineers, maintained watchkeeping duties, and gained practical expertise in marine systems on board vessels.
