Headshot of Alex Scott

Biography

Alex joined Solent University in 2018, introducing Nuke to the CGI and Visual Effects courses and with a strong background in 3D. He has been key in growing Solent’s CGFX event and led on integrating an industry-standard Shotgrid film pipeline into the curriculum. He holds an MA Post Production for Film and Television from Solent and has spent time teaching in both further education and secondary education.

Working with external partners and building on practical experience, Alex has introduced live briefs that have seen students gain IMDb credits for their contributions to feature films and successfully complete commercial client projects. He is currently working on the upcoming DC inspired short, Red-X.

Alex is also actively involved in research, with ongoing projects that include capturing and exploring Fort Purbrook datasets and visualisation work like the Gosport Motte and Bailey. Outside of the University, he loves to travel and always welcomes a geeky chat about 3D scanning!
