Biography
Diandra Saginatari holds a PhD in Architectural Design (Social Science) from the University of Nottingham, alongside a Bachelor of Architecture from Universitas Indonesia and an MA in Art, Space and Nature from the University of Edinburgh.
Her research examines how space is produced, negotiated, and inhabited in everyday life, with particular interest to materiality and formal and informal spatial practices. Her doctoral research investigated urban decay and regeneration in heritage environments in Semarang Old Town, Indonesia, through the lens of architectural porosity.
At Southampton Solent University, she teaches across interior design architecture and interior design decoration courses, delivering studio based and theory-based modules. Her teaching fosters research led and practice-based approaches, supporting students critical understanding of interior space as a stage for human inhabitation.
