Biography
Ebenezer Aderibigbe is a senior electrical and electronics technician at Southampton Solent University, bringing over 20 years of professional experience across electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, technical operations and higher education.
He holds an MSc in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Science with Distinction from Southampton Solent University, an MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Communication) from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Power) from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. His engineering education began with an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Nigeria.
Before joining Solent University in November 2024, Ebenezer held engineering and technical management positions within the telecommunications industry, including roles with Huawei Technologies, Ericsson and major mobile network operators. His industry experience encompasses engineering operations, telecommunications infrastructure, technical quality assurance, maintenance, project coordination and team leadership.
At Solent, he supports the management, maintenance and safe operation of electrical and electronic engineering laboratories, working collaboratively with academic staff to facilitate practical teaching, student learning and research activities. His responsibilities include technical troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, laboratory safety and practical support for engineering modules.
Ebenezer has also contributed to applied research, with interests in artificial intelligence, machine learning, biomedical signal processing and intelligent engineering systems. His research on machine learning-based epileptic seizure detection was published in Applied Sciences in 2025 and is registered in Solent University's PURE research database.
He is a COREN-registered engineer in Nigeria, with a professional interest in integrating industry expertise, emerging technologies and practical engineering education.

Ebenezer has extensive industry experience in electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications infrastructure, technical operations and engineering management.
He began his professional engineering career in the manufacturing sector before progressing into telecommunications, where he held engineering and technical management positions with leading organisations, including Huawei Technologies, Ericsson and Vmobile/Celtel/Zain/Airtel.
At Huawei Technologies, he worked in national fibre network quality management, overseeing technical quality assurance, network infrastructure performance, operational standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
His experience with Ericsson included regional technical management, engineering operations, network maintenance, fault diagnosis, technical team leadership and service delivery.
His earlier telecommunications experience involved mobile network operations, electrical and electronic systems maintenance, infrastructure troubleshooting and technical service management.
Throughout his career, he has developed expertise in engineering operations, project coordination, quality assurance, problem-solving and multidisciplinary team leadership.
