Biography

Lucy is a registered nurse who qualified in 2012 and has developed her career across clinical practice, research and higher education.

Lucy began her nursing career in the private healthcare sector before moving into cancer research, where she specialised in early-phase and first-in-human clinical trials. In this role, she supported patients accessing innovative treatments and contributed to research aimed at improving outcomes for people living with cancer.

Alongside her clinical roles, Lucy has always been passionate about supporting the development of future healthcare professionals and has worked as a student nurse mentor throughout her career. She has extensive experience of supporting learners in practice and promoting positive learning environments.

In March 2025, Lucy joined Solent University as a clinical placement tutor. Her role focuses on supporting students throughout their practice learning journeys, working collaboratively with practice partners and academic colleagues to ensure high-quality placement experiences. She is committed to fostering inclusive learning environments and helping students develop the knowledge, skills and professional values required to become compassionate, reflective and evidence-based practitioners.
