Naomi Bown, Senior Lecturer

Biography

Naomi completed her Advanced Diploma in Adult Nursing at Bournemouth University in 2010. She worked at Dorset County Hospital for one year after she qualified and then moved to Southampton to University Hospital Southampton (UHS), where she worked for eight years. During that time, she completed her top-up to gain her degree in adult nursing.

Naomi is a registered adult nurse, qualified in 2010. Her clinical background includes working on an acute surgical ward, and she also worked in the general intensive care unit at UHS, supporting students as a mentor. She then moved into an education role at UHS as a clinical educator with the Surgical Education Team, which is where her passion for education began.

In her education role, Naomi supported student nurses, trainee nursing associates, and nursing apprentices in practice and completed a Masters Module in Education. Additionally, during this time, Naomi was seconded into a role as Collaborative Learning in Practice (CLiP) Facilitator. This involved facilitating and supporting the roll out of the CLiP model across UHS, working closely with Health Education Wessex in supporting the roll out of this model across the Wessex Region.
