We are working with NHS Trusts across the region to support the recruitment and retention of a highly skilled workforce that enables residents to access healthcare services. Our courses (BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice, BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing and FdSc Health and Social Care) are accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and see our students undertake 2,300 hours of placements.

- Solent NHS Trust won the Apprenticeship Employer of the Year award at the 2022 Solent University Business and Alumni Awards.
- A Solent NHS Trust apprentice, studying with Solent University was Highly Commended’ for the Carers Award in the Health, Medical and Social Care category of the BAME Apprenticeships awards. The awards recognise British BAME Apprentices, their employers and learning providers.
- Jackie Munro, Chief Nurse for Solent NHS trust was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Human Sciences by Solent University in 2022.
University Hospital Southampton
- Signatory of Solent University’s Civic Agreement.
- Adult nursing students attend placement with University Hospital Southampton.
- Solent University’s Vice-Provost (Research and Innovation) is a Governor of the Trust.
Southern Health NHS Trust
- Adult nursing, mental health nursing and trainee nursing associates all attend placement with this trust.
- Second year TV production students have been working with NHS staff and patients from Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a set of videos focussing on raising awareness of mental health in time for Mental Health Awareness Week.
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- Adult nursing, mental health nursing and trainee nursing associates all attend placement with this trust.
