To coincide with a visit by a giant whale to the beach, we'll be offering a series of short talks and practical activities exploring the role of plastic and how we can all live a more sustainable lifestyle.
Beach burning workout
Did you know you can burn up to 50 per cent more calories per minute while exercising on sand? Join us for a combination of running, bodyweight strength exercises and agility moves in a unique experience that will help you reach your fitness goals.
Beach HIIT workout
Tuesday 23 July and Monday 5 August, 2-4pm
Stimulate your workout with HIIT training sessions on sand. HIIT stands for high-intensity interval training, which motivates weight loss pursuits and workout goals. Experience a combination of strength, toning and cardiovascular exercises with this beach-inspired routine.
Tug of war

Do you think you have what it takes to be on the winning team? Come and challenge your strength capabilities on the sand with this tug of war competition.
Stage takeover
Sit back, relax and enjoy the sounds of our BA (Hons) Popular Music Performance students. From acoustic sets to more lively numbers, there's something for everyone this summer.
Beach art workshop
Wednesdays, 12-2pm
Looking for something fun and creative to do this summer? Come and join the Showcase Gallery workshop leaders outside from 12-2pm each Wednesday to design and make your own seaside inspired flag. If you're feeling a bit hot and need to shelter from the sun, pop into the Gallery - through Artisan cafe - take a seat and cool down.
