Mark, you were a genuine friend and colleague who did not hesitate to help me in all circumstances, whether work related or personal. You will be greatly missed mate, RIP my friend.

I will cherish the memories of the many coffees, meals and chats we had together. Heart to hears in the union office, the funny exchanges of texts. I have read all the tributes to you, and agree with them all. I know that you had so much sadness in your life - but like a fire, you burned brightly with whatever was thrown into it - you shone with brilliance and I know you will be the brightest star in heaven now. Only the good die young. Rest in peace my dear friend.

I will miss the incredible humility which came with your expertise and passion for teaching. I have lost a brilliant colleague and tireless cheerleader.

Mark was an incredibly great guy. I had the pleasure of working with him in my earlier years and he became a good friend and supporter of our law firm. He was a walking encyclopaedia in the law of intellectual property - a great master in his field. He would help anyone that asked him for help and was a genuinely kind hearted person. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. God rest his soul and give all that knew him patience to deal with the sorrow.

Rest in Peace Mark, you will be incredibly missed. I wouldn't have achieved the results I did at Solent without your guidance and for that I am forever grateful. Fly high xox

I was very sad to hear the news that Mark has passed away. We had re-connected over the last year and had been planning to meet up when I was next in the area. I was a part-time mature student when I first met Mark. He had such a passion for his specialised subject and all that it entailed and he was so good at making even the mundane interesting. He was my tutor for my final year dissertation, which he told me recently he still used as an example of practical research to many of his students. Mark persuaded me to go on and do the LLM in Intellectual Property Law and it was during many evenings in the pub that I came to appreciate his humour and the kindness and support that he showed to all his students. Nothing was ever too much trouble and he always made himself available to all of us.

I am so sorry that I did not get to see you again Mark. You set me and many others on the path to success and for that I will always be grateful. Rest in peace my friend.

Mark Wing (or Mark the flying wing as I call him). I don't recall ever meeting anyone who lived their name the way you did. You literally carried your students on your wings during and after their studies. you made studying fun, EU law was brilliant, IP was bonkers (that fun) and the life nuggets you fed us were precious. I only feel bad for the incoming students that won't get the luck of meeting you and being taught by you. I hope you're looking down on us and you're proud of us.

Continue to rest in peace great one.

You were an amazing teacher! I can’t believe you’ve gone
You helped us, supported us and stuck by us. You were also really cool
you weren’t just our teacher, you were our friend.
You will be missed by all of us.

Rest in Peace
