Wednesday 8 July marks the start of an exciting week of celebrations, as Southampton Solent University's Class of 2026 prepares to graduate.
Across six ceremonies over three days, nearly 2,000 graduates from a variety of disciplines will be joined by proud friends and family to mark the culmination of years of dedication to their studies.
From Wednesday 8 to Friday 10 July, the O2 Guildhall Southampton will host the University's graduation ceremonies.
For every graduate, this is a day that has been years in the making. Graduation marks not just the end of one chapter, but the beginning of the next, as the class of 2026 steps forward into careers, further study and futures equipped with the professional skills, industry experience and confidence that their time at Solent has given them.
With employability, adaptability and real-world experience at the heart of every Solent degree, the University is committed to a new model of higher education designed around students' futures.
The ceremonies will celebrate students from the Schools of Creative Industries, Health and Sport, Business, Law and Society, Technology and Maritime Industries, and Warsash Maritime School, reflecting the breadth and diversity of talent that makes up Solent’s community.
This year’s graduation ceremonies will be presided over by Pro-Chancellor and Vice-Chair of the Board, Don Iro, Pro Vice-Chancellor Students and Governance, Jim Irving, Pro-Chancellor PVC Research, Academic Strategy and Planning, Cathy Barnes, and Deputy Pro-Chancellor, Lisa-Jane Risk.
Solent's Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Knowles, will preside over the ceremonies.
"Graduation is a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the hard work our students have shown throughout their time at Solent. Our graduates leave equipped to thrive and to make a genuine impact in their chosen fields,” he says.
“I have every confidence that the class of 2026 will go on to do remarkable things. It is a privilege to welcome them into Solent's growing global community of alumni."
