The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering and BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering degree programmes have been accredited by the IET on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registrations as an Incorporated Engineer, and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

“This is fantastic news”, says Jonathan Ridley, Solent’s Head of Engineering, “IET accreditation will continue to give our students a clear route to progress faster in their careers, to achieve Incorporated or ultimately Chartered Engineer status.

“Engineering offers a wide range of exciting, creative and rewarding careers for graduates,” he continues. “With a shortage of engineers nationally, and many employers expressing concerns about recruiting engineers, there will be excellent career opportunities in the future.”

Solent’s accredited courses are available in both full-time and part-time models, to suit those who want to study full-time or to work as they continue their education. More information about our engineering courses can be found here
