Solent's unique student-run retail store, Re:So was thrilled to recently present a collection of their products at Gok Wan’s One Size Fits All roadshow. Designed to give secrets to style and body confidence, the roadshow enabled Re:So to showcase ten different looks on the catwalk.

We caught up with Lesley Taylor, Senior Lecturer for Re:So, and Sandra Tavares – Graduate Intern and Store Manager who told us more about the experience.

Gok Wan, fashion consultant, author and television presenter “Re:So is absolutely amazing, having a real shop is something different and is really supporting the next generation of designers. I love it”

Tell us more about the roadshow

Lesley: Re:So's involvement as a sponsor of Gok Wan's One Size Fits All roadshow gave the store team a unique, hands on insight into the preparation required for a fashion event at fairly short notice.  They worked to the diverse model brief, selecting and styling outfits for the catwalk show, giving Re:So wider public exposure and really standing out from the other retailers.

What products did you showcase on the catwalk?

Lesley: The product mix was pieces designed and sourced by BA (Hons) Fashion Buying and Merchandising, BA (Hons) Fashion Management with Marketing, BA (Hons) Illustration and Fashion Design programmes at Solent and included t-shirts, vintage pieces, jewellery and printed illustrations.

Sandra, how do you feel this industry experience has helped you?

This experience allowed me to explore my creative and styling skills that I was yet to discover. I was also able to network with attendees and other businesses, which I have never done before.

Overall, this event has given me valuable industry experience, which I hope will open doors and options for me.
