Final year BA (Hons) Fashion student Demi Hardy was recently selected to showcase her stunning final year designs in the Graduate Fashion Week – Talent of Tomorrow campaign.

8th May 2019
Fashion

The campaign was designed to present a selection of the best student designs in the lead up to Graduate Fashion Week, with Demi being one of twelve lucky students from across the UK to be selected.

Demi’s work was shot under the creative direction of illustrious fashion photographer Erika Astrid, and reputable stylist Jennifer Mertens, and her designs were modelled during the professional shoots and street style shoots by both influencers and models.

Demi’s colourful look was designed to depict a sense of rebellion against growing up and having to deal with both the responsibilities and realities of adult life. Her design expresses the young generation straddling the tough adult world, desiring the freedom that it offers, but still in need of the comforting protection of the parental home. 12 students from across the UK were also invited to attend and assist at the photoshoot at the Old Truman Brewery – London, and five Solent students made up a part of the 12, fulfilling roles such as make-up artist, hair stylists, styling assistants and street-style photographers.

As well as Demi, Claire Younger and Jessica Hartrey (studying BA (Hons) Fashion Styling and Creative Direction), Nishan Greyson, Ella Passley and Lucy Ryan (studying BA (Hons) Make Up and Hair Design) beat students from many other universities for their places on the day.

The students embarked on a day shadowing and working closely with a select group of professionals to help the day run smoothly, build their portfolios and networking.
