Marketing, communications and public relations

Eloise Newman, 21, from Wiltshire, has just completed her third-year on Solent’s BA (Hons) PR & Communications Management course and received the award following her successful blog, Eloise.pr, which includes the PR student’s take on the latest PR and motorsport news stories.

Commenting on her win, Eloise says: “I started writing a blog at the beginning of this academic year and sharing it through Twitter as my tutor had introduced me to PR Place’s Student blogging community where student blogs are selected on a weekly basis, and released every Friday in a news piece on the website.”

“I feel over the moon to have won. I have really enjoyed blogging over the past year alongside my studies, and I really did not expect to win!”

In September, Eloise plans to start a masters in consumer behaviour, with the hope to pursue a career within consumer research and public relations.

Sally Holland, Course Leader, Marketing and PR at Solent University says: “Congratulations to Eloise. To win this national award takes perseverance to produce weekly industry content and is just one example of how through the use of real world learning we support our students to be work ready in their future careers.”

“I have really enjoyed the past three years I have spent at Solent and I am really looking forward to continuing my blog, and my upcoming masters course,” Eloise adds.
