Biography
Ellie is a lecturer in psychology who joined Solent University in January 2025. Her teaching encompasses a range of topics including counselling and mental health, sport and exercise psychology, and research methods.
Ellie graduated with a BPS accredited first class honours degree in Sport Psychology from the University of Roehampton, followed by a BPS accredited MSc in Psychology of Sport and Exercise. She is currently completing her PhD in Life Sciences (Sport Psychology) at Roehampton, exploring the behaviours and lived experiences of competitive bodybuilders. Alongside her doctoral studies and prior to joining Solent, Ellie worked as an associate lecturer in sport management, sport coaching, and sport and exercise psychology.
Ellie has also worked as research assistant on a number of projects, including studies funded by the British Psychological Society and the World Anti-Doping Agency. Her broader research interests include exercise addiction, disordered eating, image and performance-enhancing drug use, and harm reduction.
