Media programme students from the School of Media Arts and Technology had the fantastic opportunity to showcase their work at an end of year showcase held on 22 May.

1st June 2018
TV, film, media production and technology

The event celebrated the diverse and creative work of students from foundation level right through to graduation, with projects focusing on a range of themes including ‘Real men don’t cry’, ‘Street theatre’ and mental health. Work was presented in a variety of formats, showcasing the breadth of skills students have developed including audio, photography, video and online work.

Roy Hanney, course leader for BA (Hons) Media Production, says: “It was a wonderful night, the range of work was really impressive and it’s great to be able to show off our students' creativity at all levels.

"One of the really nice things about a show like this is that you get to experience the work in a very different way from how you normally see it. Instead of sitting at a computer ruminating over marks, you get to see the work in all its glory, with an audience in a social setting. This often transforms the experience and is also a very motivating experience for the students as well.

"As we go forward, one of our aims next year will be to get more industry engagement and to invite in employers, influencers and other media makers from the area. We want the showcase to be an advert for students and their creative energy.”
