Professor Baldwin named as new Vice-Chancellor

Professor Graham Baldwin assumes the title of Professor of Employer Engagement on Monday 18 August 2014 as he takes over as Vice-Chancellor at Southampton Solent University. Professor Baldwin succeeds Professor Van Gore who retired at the end of July.

Speaking of his new role, he says: “It’s good to be here and to be starting the job. I’m very excited about it and looking forward to the future.”

Solent Journalism student Simon Poynter interviews Professor Baldwin on his first impressions of the University and his aspirations for his new role:
Before joining Solent, Graham worked for 13 years at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) where he was Deputy Vice-Chancellor for the past five years. He initially worked as a Head of Department in Lancashire Business School before joining UCLan’s Senior Management Team in 2003 and held posts as Dean of Academic Development and Director for Cumbria.
