Success for our first alumni networking event

Last month we had the pleasure of welcoming members of our alumni community back to the University. We were delighted to see over 150 former students, with graduation years spanning from 1974 to 2017, join us for the evening.

Over the course of the event, our alumni had the opportunity to network with fellow graduates, staff, and students, as well as take guided tours around our recent award-winning building, the Spark. Departments from around the University also attended to chat with guests about the different ways they can get involved with the University. A few of our alumni even had a go in our slow motion video booth!  

Alumna Ashleigh Harris who attended the event and graduated in 2017, said: “It was a pleasure to meet recent graduates along with those from many years ago. Some alumni were local, others international and they all had an interesting story to share. 

“The event was relaxed and genuinely felt welcoming for all of the different graduation years represented. Finding out about the different benefits and mentoring programmes that the graduates could get involved with was of real interest to myself and many of the other alumni.”
