Southampton Solent University will be extending its expansive range of higher and degree apprenticeship courses after being accepted on to the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP).

The University’s RoATP success means it can now offer a range of programmes to meet employer demand, with degree options (levels four, five and six) ready to launch, and Masters (level seven) and Doctorates (level eight) being developed.

Each higher and degree apprenticeship programme has been designed in partnership with employers to support the development of their staff.

Apprentices will focus on documenting the skills, knowledge and behaviours practiced in the workplace while working towards a nationally recognised and professionally accredited qualification.

Solent higher and degree apprenticeships ready now or in the near future, include:

  • Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship
  • Operations/Departmental Manager
  • Construction Site Supervision
  • Construction Site Engineering Technician
  • Construction Design and Build Technician
  • Construction Survey Technician
  • Construction Site Management
  • Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer
  • Assistant Practitioner (Health)
  • Digital & Technology Solutions Professional

Solent is also pleased to welcome a new Business Development Manager for apprenticeships, Annelies James. Annelies has a wealth of experience in the education sector and apprenticeships.

Business Development Manager Annelies James

“I’m excited to join Solent and work with businesses to help them navigate the current changes and understand how higher and degree apprenticeships can upskill and futureproof their workforce and positively impact their organisation,” says Annelies.

“We recognise employers are in the driving seat with the implementation of the new apprenticeship changes, so if there is provision you want then please get in touch to discuss your needs. And if you’re an employee interested in finding out more about undertaking an apprenticeship alongside your career, we’re happy to help.”
