Southampton Solent University students showcase industry-ready final projects in Summer Show

5 June 2026

Southampton Solent University’s graduating students came together on Friday 5 June to present the work of their degrees at the annual Summer Show.

The evening was busy and buzzing with excitement, as students, families and lecturers filled the East Park Terrace campus to celebrate the culmination of years of hard work and creativity.

Across the East Park Terrace campus, visitors were invited to explore final major projects created by students in graphic design, illustration, architectural design and technology, games art and games design, CGI and visual effects, animation, media technology, photography, fashion, interior design, fine art, film and television production, media production, sports journalism and more.

Justin Edgar-Bee, a second-year BA (Hons) CGI and Visual Effects student, attended the show hoping to grow his network and develop his practice: "I'm really looking to expand my work and push it in new directions — so tonight is a great opportunity to meet potential collaborators and connect with people who share the same passion."

Sofia Komiti, a BA (Hons) Fashion and Beauty Media student, presented her Final Major Project centred on the creation of an active skincare brand. She said: "I can't believe how far I've come and I am really proud. Solent has given me access to resources and opportunities that have allowed me to grow and create something I'm truly happy with."

Fellow Architectural Design student Eathan Pablo Maniebo attended the evening with his wife, and spoke warmly about the support he had received throughout his studies. The dedication and effort shown by his lecturers has left him considering continuing his education with a master's degree.

Abby Fleming, a BA (Hons) Prosthetics and Special Effects Design student, showcased her piece Little Miss Manner, and was struck by the range of reactions it prompted: "It's been really interesting seeing visitors come and engage with the piece, everyone seems to take something slightly different from it."

Harriet Rossall, a BA (Hons) Interior Design Architecture student, presented her project reimagining the design of prisons, and was joined on the night by her family. Her mother said she was incredibly proud, adding that Harriet had worked tirelessly throughout her studies to get to this moment.

Throughout the evening, staff, students and guests celebrated the creative talent showcased across the university’s courses. Faculty also commended the achievements of this year’s graduating students and the professional-standard work produced.
