Solent University students and the Southampton Keep Our NHS Public members have worked together to produce eight short films to celebrate the NHS.

The films will be shown at City Eye for a week starting on Saturday 06 November and will run until Saturday 13 November, as part of Southampton Film Week.

Second year Solent University TV Production students interviewed local NHS workers and patients, to create films which capture the breadth and diversity of the NHS. The interviews and transcripts will in due course form part of a City Archives collection at Southampton City Archive.

Kate O’Driscoll, Senior Lecturer in TV Production at Solent University, said: “This was a fantastic collaboration between TV Production students and the wider community. The students really engaged with the process of researching and developing the ideas, working with the NHS, the City Archives, and members of the public to create some wonderful films that bring to life the history of the NHS in Southampton."

Southampton: NHS Stories – Oral Histories on Film is installed at City Eye throughout Southampton Film Week. Please note City Eye is not open on Sunday and Monday.
