Biography

Alison graduated with a BSc (First Class Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science from Luton University before completing her MSc in Sports Sciences at Brunel University. 

In 2005 Alison emigrated to New Zealand where she completed her PhD investigating the Perceived and Measured Health Benefits of Aqua-based Exercise for Older Adults with Osteoarthritis.

  1. Industry experience

    Alison has worked for a range of health care providers and has undertaken a variety of roles including conducting health assessments for employers, working with cardiac rehabilitation patients, delivering exercise programmes to frail older adults and those with arthritis, as well as development and delivery of community-based nutrition and exercise initiatives.
  2. Teaching experience

    Alison has taught a range of subjects relating to exercise, health, sport and nutrition, both in the UK and New Zealand higher education facilities. She was placement lead for year three bachelor's students in New Zealand and foundation degree students at the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.
