Biography

Claire currently works in academic services at Solent University within the academic partnerships team supporting the development and quality assurance of UK, EU and international academic partnerships. She also works as an associate lecturer within the School of Business, Law and Communication covering a variety of subject areas including current business issues, business management, employability and academic skills. She also supports students pastorally in her role as an academic mentor.

    Claire has a strong industry background having worked across the public, higher education and private sectors for numerous market leaders including Nike, Manchester United Football Club, Right Management Consultancy, Tameside Council and Anglia Ruskin University. 

    Within her roles in these companies she has wide experience of:

    • Operations management.
    • Event management.
    • Customer/client management.
    • Human resources.
    • Change management.
    • Contracts management.

    Claire works as an associate lecturer within the School of Business, Law and Communications teaching on both standard and blended learning courses, covering a variety of subject areas including current business issues, business management, employability and academic skills. She also supports students pastorally in her role as an academic mentor. Within her role in academic partnerships she also leads workshops around partnership development including assessment design and QA policy.

    Claire’s research interests lie in enhancing the student experience, particularly around the international student journey and experiences. Claire is also active in research around partnership and quality assurance best practices, gathering information on UK and international working practices.
