Daen is a curator, writer and brand consultant. He has worked in the fields of art, fashion, performance and international cultural relations across institutions, including The National Portrait Gallery, The Wallace Collection, Leighton House Museum and Leica Gallery Los Angeles.
Having completed an MA in Art and Politics at Goldsmiths, University of London, Daen’s research interests include Latin American Postcolonial Theory, Exoticism, Edward Linley Sambourne and his contemporaries, as well as 19th century portrait photography in Brazil. During his work at the Mexican Embassy in London, Daen assisted the Head of Cultural Affairs and facilitated several exhibitions, publications and events as part of the Mexico UK cultural programme.
Daen is the editor and co-founder of The Protagonist Magazine, a high quality publication about art, culture and performance. For the publication, Daen also acts as the creative director, overseeing the publication process from conceptualisation to final product. Daen has produced editorials for a range of publications including Glamour Italy, The Guardian, L’Officiel and Madame Figaro and continues to design marketing strategies for brands, artists and musicians.
