I have been at Southampton Solent University since January 2016. Prior to that I was senior lecturer in social work at London Metropolitan University. I began my career in higher education as a social work lecturer at Havering College, in East London.
I am also a qualified and HCPC registered social worker. I have spent a lot of my time in practice working with young people in the criminal justice system. My most recent post in practice was as a practice manager in a London youth offending team. Among other roles, I have also worked in child protection as a social worker, I have been a residential worker in a children’s home and I have worked in the voluntary sector, both with children and adults. I also have previous experience working as a volunteer community mediator, helping resolve community-based disputes.
